Become a DVSC Board Member

Calling all STEM Professionals in the Delaware Valley

The Delaware Valley Science Council is looking for a few new members for our Board of Directors!

To accomplish our mission, we need your help. Since its inception in 1946, the DVSC has been an all-volunteer organization and depends on the participation of many individuals throughout the year for the success of our programs. There are many ways that you can become involved, so even if you are not ready to commit to a year-round involvement (we have four scheduled Board meetings a year), please consider becoming a volunteer with DVSC, particularly as a mentor or judge for our STEM Challenge program.

DVSC is breaking new ground with a new program, actually making strides to more closely align with our mission statement to encourage young students in high school to consider STEM disciplines in their further education and as a career.  Whereas previously our program worked to identify and award top students already on this path, our new program steps back to 9th and 10th grades to grow enthusiasm for these subjects in younger students who have not yet made these decisions. Professionals from the fields of education, science, and engineering are needed to join in these activities and to share their educational and career experiences with students participating in our programs. For many of these students, this provides their first opportunity to interact with a professional mathematician, engineer, or scientist.

To become involved with DVSC, please contact us at info@delawarevalleysciencecouncil.org.
